Alicia Munian

Director of Communications

Alicia Munian is an innovative communications strategist with a strong foundation in campaign operations, legislative affairs, and public engagement. Her passion for politics began early while attending Elmont Memorial High School, where she received numerous awards for her debating skills through the Model United Nations program, developing the public speaking and analytical abilities that would shape her career.

At just 17 years old, Munian officially entered the political arena, working on Carrie Solages’ campaign for Nassau County Legislator. During this time, she successfully helped amass over 700 petition signatures in a single season, demonstrating early strength in field operations and grassroots mobilization. She went on to play a key role in the successful election of Michaelle Solages, taking on a larger role in field organizing and campaign strategy.

She further expanded her national campaign experience during the 2016 presidential election, supporting Hillary Clinton’s campaign through fundraising efforts across Long Island and traveling to New Hampshire to assist with Get Out The Vote (GOTV) initiatives.

Her growing expertise led to her appointment as Director of Communications for the Nassau County Young Democrats, where she oversaw messaging, branding, and outreach initiatives aimed at engaging and mobilizing young voters. In recognition of her leadership and impact, she was named Young Democrat of the Year in 2016 by the Nassau County Democratic Committee. She was also recognized as a 30 Under 30 honoree by Long Island Business News for her contributions to communications, leadership, and community engagement.

Munian later served as a Legislative Aide in the New York State Assembly, where she specialized in communications and marketing while also managing constituent services and community relations. She further expanded her campaign leadership as Communications Director for Brad Schwartz’s 2019 State Senate campaign, leading communications strategy and public messaging efforts. In 2022, she also contributed to managing Carrie Solages’ congressional bid, supporting campaign operations and communications strategy.

Beyond her work in government and campaigns, Munian is also an entrepreneur, having built her own business specializing in website design, social media, and communications strategy. Her work bridges political messaging with modern digital marketing systems, helping organizations effectively reach and engage their audiences.

In addition to her professional work, she has volunteered with Ronald McDonald House Charities and contributed communications support to international NGOs including Cross-Cultural Solutions. A global traveler who has visited over 30 countries, Munian brings a broad, culturally informed perspective to her work in communications and public service.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with nationally recognized research titled “The Plight of Ethnic Minorities in Long Island Politics.” Her career reflects a deep commitment to impactful communication, civic engagement, and amplifying diverse voices within the political landscape.
